God Has Promised to Answer Every Prayer

The prayer life of our church is an important part of who we are as the Body of Christ at St. Peter’s. Scripture is filled with encouragements to pray. God has promised to answer every prayer. So together we lift up to the Lord the prayers of God’s people.

Ways to Receive Prayer

Your need for prayer may come in different forms:

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. -Philippians 4:5-7

Confidential Prayers

Maybe you need prayer but would prefer that the nature or content of your prayer not be shared with everyone. Each prayer warrior in the chain knows not to share the details of these prayers with anyone except the Lord. These prayers can be about anything that you desire prayer for and would prefer to remain confined to a small group of prayer warriors.

Spoken Prayers (In Worship)

Prayers are spoken in worship weekly. Each weekend of the month, in the non-communion service the “new” prayer requests are spoken aloud in worship. If the prayer is for an ongoing issue, it will be kept on the Time to Pray, and prayed aloud in worship on a rotation. These prayers can also include praises for anniversaries, births, significant birthdays, and the families of those who have gone to be with the Lord.

Urgent Prayer (Speak With A Pastor)

For those prayer requests that are urgent and critical, it is helpful to speak with a pastor. After regular hours, call the church at (812) 372-1571 and press “1” when the recording comes on. You will be transferred to the pastor on call.
