Christmas

Wednesdays of Advent

December 4, 11 and 18 @ 7pm only

Our three-week Wednesday series will look at Isaiah 9:6, and the titles given to the Christ child Isaiah prophesied would come. Writing nearly 800 years before Christ, during a period of upheaval as the Assyrians were on the march, taking people into captivity by droves, Isaiah’s prophecy gave the people of God a hope they so desperately needed: a Child would be born to fulfill the Davidic kingdom and He would bear the titles “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” This Child was the Messiah, the Christ. This great prophecy of Isaiah will reach its fullness at Christ’s second coming; of which we await eagerly.

Weekends of Advent

Deck the Halls - Prepare the Hearts
(December 1, 8, 15 & 22)

Our weekend series: "Deck the Halls, Prepare the Hearts" will explore our long to-do lists to prepare for our Christmas. We have cards to send, lights to hang, songs to sing, parties to attend, and gifts to wrap. God also had a to-do list to prepare for the very first Christmas. He had invitations to send out, lights to create, songs to write, parties to be at, and gifts to give. Join us as we walk through our to-do lists to see how they intersect with God's to-do list.

St. Peter's has put together an Advent devotional to go alongside our Sunday preaching series. Copies are also available in the church lobby or you can text the word ADVENT to 812-775-2300 to receive the devotions daily.
